The Milestone Center for Integrative Health, LLC is a growing, locally owned and clinician-led mental health practice in Bel Air, Maryland.
We are seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner interested in developing an independent outpatient practice with the support of Milestone's established infrastructure.
This opportunity may be especially appealing if you want greater autonomy over your schedule, caseload, patient population, and the way you practice, but do not want to independently build everything required to operate an insurance-based private practice.
Milestone provides much of the infrastructure that is difficult to build alone, including established insurance relationships, credentialing support, billing and collections, administrative support, practice technology, furnished office space, marketing, and referrals.
We also offer something a national platform cannot replicate: a real local practice and the people behind it.
You can build a practice that feels like yours without having to practice in isolation.
This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity, not an employed position.
ABOUT MILESTONE
We believe good psychiatric care requires time, curiosity, clinical judgment, and an understanding of the whole person.
Our approach is evidence-based and integrative. We consider the biological, psychological, developmental, family, social, environmental, and lifestyle factors that may be contributing to each patient's presentation.
Medication can be an important part of treatment, but it is never the entirety of the person or the treatment plan.
We value thoughtful assessment, careful diagnosis, responsible prescribing, continued learning, and individualized treatment. We do not believe in building psychiatric care around rushed medication checks or maximizing patient volume at the expense of quality.
Milestone is not a national provider platform or corporate healthcare organization. We live and work in this community. THE OPPORTUNITY
Independent contractors have the flexibility to develop a caseload and clinical practice that reflect their professional interests, experience, and availability.
Depending upon qualifications, interests, scope of practice, and applicable payer requirements, opportunities may include:
• Children and adolescents
• Adults
• Psychiatric evaluation and diagnosis
• Medication management
• Psychotherapy within the clinician's scope and competency
• In-person care
• Telehealth
• Hybrid practice
• Development of specialty populations or areas of professional interest
Clinicians retain responsibility for their independent clinical judgment and treatment decisions and are expected to practice within applicable federal and Maryland laws, professional standards, payer requirements, and individual scope of practice.
FLEXIBILITY AND AUTONOMY
Choose the availability that works for your practice.
Independent contractors are not assigned traditional employee shifts or schedules. Depending upon clinician preference and office availability, services may be offered during weekdays, evenings, weekends, or a combination that works for your practice.
Build the caseload that works for you with marketing and referral support from Milestone.
Focus on the populations and areas of psychiatry that fit your experience and professional interests.
Practice in person from our Bel Air office, via telehealth when clinically and legally appropriate, or through a hybrid model.

COMPENSATION
This opportunity uses a competitive percentage-based independent contractor compensation model tied to collected revenue.
Earning potential varies based upon caseload, services provided, payer mix, collections, and the contractor's chosen availability.
The complete compensation structure, payment process, and contractor terms are reviewed during the interview and contracting process.
As a 1099 independent contractor, the clinician is responsible for applicable federal, state, and local tax obligations, professional liability coverage, benefits, and other responsibilities associated with self-employment.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner program with psychiatric mental health specialization
• Current PMHNP board certification
• Current unrestricted RN and Maryland Nurse Practitioner license and authority to practice
• Current Maryland CDS registration
• Current DEA registration appropriate to practice
• Individual NPI
• Current CAQH/WellSpring profile or ability to establish and maintain required credentialing information
• Professional liability insurance meeting applicable practice and payer requirements
• Ability to satisfy applicable payer credentialing requirements
• Ability to practice independently within Maryland law and professional scope
• Commitment to ethical, evidence-informed, patient-centered psychiatric care
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Outpatient psychiatric experience
• Experience providing psychiatric medication management
• Behavioral health or mental health experience
• Experience working with children, adolescents, families, and/or adults
• Interest in integrative and whole-person psychiatric care
• Strong assessment, diagnostic, documentation, and clinical decision-making skills
Experienced PMHNPs as well as exceptional newer clinicians with strong clinical foundations are encouraged to inquire. Clinical judgment, professionalism, commitment to high-quality care, and alignment with Milestone's approach are important considerations.
